ALMS: Priaulx und Müller starten beim Petit Le Mans

Wenige Tage nach den Läufen der FIA World Touring Car Championship in Imola (IT) bereiten sich die beiden BMW Werksfahrer Andy Priaulx (GB) und Jörg Müller (DE) schon auf ihren nächsten Renneinsatz vor. Das Duo verstärkt am kommenden Wochenende die Fahrerbesetzung vom BMW Rahal Letterman Racing Team in der American Le Mans Series (ALMS).
Priaulx wird im BMW M3 GT2 gemeinsam mit Bill Auberlen (US) und Joey Hand (US) beim traditionsreichen „Petit Le Mans“ in Road Atlanta (US) um den Sieg in der GT2-Klasse kämpfen. Jörg Müller startet an der Seite von Tommy Milner (US) und Dirk Müller (DE).
Nach dem „Petit Le Mans“ stehen für den BMW M3 GT2 zwei Gaststarts in der VLN-Langstreckenmeisterschaft auf dem Programm. Schauplatz ist die traditionsreiche Nürburgring-Nordschleife. Das Freilassinger Schnitzer Motorsport Team wird die Einsätze des BMW M3 GT2 am 3. und 17. Oktober 2009 betreuen. Beim ersten Auftritt in der VLN wechseln sich Jörg Müller und Augusto Farfus (BR) am Steuer des 485 PS starken Rennwagens ab. Zwei Wochen später bildet Dirk Müller mit Priaulx ein Team.
Nach seiner Premiere in Europa wird der BMW M3 GT2 auch in Asien an den Start gehen. Im Rahmenprogramm der Tourenwagen-WM schickt das BMW Rahal Letterman Racing Team am 31. Oktober/1. November eines seiner Fahrzeuge aus der ALMS in der Asian Le Mans Series ins Rennen. In Okayama (JP) werden Dirk Müller und Tommy Milner am Steuer sitzen.

Priaulx will be hoping for victory in the GT2 class with the BMW M3 GT2 in the classic Petit Le Mans event at Road Atlanta (US) as team-mate to Bill Auberlen (US) and Joey Hand (US). Jörg Müller joins forces with Tommy Milner (US) and Dirk Müller (DE).
After the Petit Le Mans event, the BMW M3 GT2 will contest two races in the VLN Endurance Championship, both held on the Nürburgring’s classic Nordschleife. The Schnitzer Motorsport Team will manage the entries of the BMW M3 GT2 on 3rd and 17th October 2009. The first VLN event will see the 485 horsepower race car shared by Jörg Müller and Augusto Farfus (BR), with Dirk Müller and Priaulx doing driver duties a fortnight later.
Following its debut in Europe, the BMW M3 GT2 will be on the grid in Asia. On 31st October / 1st November 2009 the Asian Le Mans Series features on the World Touring Car Championship programme at Okayama (JP).
